Sexual Health Initiatives

Health Education and Prevention Services (HEPS) staff work collaboratively to provide a prevention-based, inclusive, campus student sexual health program that includes strategies in support of the health and well-being of the CSU campus community. Initiatives focus on empowering students to be sexually healthy adults, while helping reduce risk for sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies. CREWS Peer Education is integrated into the program’s education, skill-building and resourcing related efforts. This includes campus presentations and outreach, sexual health supplies availability, discounted sexually transmitted infections testing and educational campaigns, as well as intentional promotion of sexual health resources, including clinical care. Program staff work with the Survivor Advocacy and Feminist Education Center to cross promote their interpersonal violence prevention educational and support efforts and integrate important consent messaging. Staff also work with local, state and national agencies in support of campus sexual health program initiatives.
