Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder

The opioid abuse epidemic has emerged as one of the biggest public health concerns in the United States.  We can help CSU students with medication assistance during the recovery process. Treatment is available to students who suffer from abuse of heroin, pain pills, or any other opioid use.

WHAT IS BUPRENORPHINE?

Buprenorphine (Suboxone) is an FDA-approved medication to treat symptoms of opioid withdrawal, detoxification from opioid use, and as a maintenance treatment of opioid use disorder.

TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR OPIOID USE DISORDER TREATMENT

CSU students who have been stabilized and are treated with buprenorphine (Suboxone) by an off-campus provider can transfer their care to CSU Psychiatry Services. Students can schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to learn more about the medication and transfer of care process with Dr. Irena Danczik, Dr. Keri Lemmond or Jay Hessler, PHMNP. Our providers are DEA approved and experienced providers in medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
