Students seeking medical treatment at CSU Health Network due to a motor vehicle accident should be aware of the following:
- CSU Health Network will not bill automobile or medical insurance, or any other third-parties, for medical treatment due to a motor vehicle accident.
- All charges for care that a student agrees to receive at CSU Health Network related to a motor vehicle accident will be applied to the student account (accessible through RAMweb).
- It will be the responsibility of the student to obtain all receipts and documentation to submit to insurance for the students’ visits to CSU Health Network for medical treatment due to a motor vehicle accident.
Why? When students suffer injuries in a motor vehicle accident, the payment policies of medical and automobile insurance companies and the potential consequences of legal litigation often prevent timely reimbursement of charges incurred as a result of those injuries. Awaiting an insurance reimbursement or a legal settlement can result in a significant accumulation of charges during the lengthy process of settling an injury claim related to a motor vehicle accident.
Students will be informed of this policy when they schedule or seek care related to a motor vehicle accident, and will be asked to acknowledge this policy by signing a “Notice of Liability” from.
