Dental Services

Dental Services is a full-service dental clinic serving the students of CSU and their spouses/companions. Fees are approximately 75-80% of the average prevailing fee in the community. The primary benefit of using our clinic is convenient location and you may have our fees charged to your student account! We look forward to meeting you and will make every effort to provide quality, caring service for all your dental needs.

The Dental Clinic provides the following services:

Basic Dental Services

  • Fillings
  • Sealants & Small Composite Resin Restorations
  • Simple Extractions (due to decay, injury or fracture)
  • Initiation of root canal treatment to relieve pain/swelling
  • Recementing of Crowns (caps), inlays or bridges

Preventive Dentistry

  • Oral hygiene instructions
  • Cleaning by one of our hygienists will improve the health of your teeth, gums and breath
  • Sealants to prevent decay
  • Fluoride treatments to prevent decay and reduce sensitivity
  • LimitedtTreatment of early (to moderate) periodontal disease (referral for more advanced needs)
  • Power toothbrushes (Oral B, Sonicare) at discounted prices for students
  • Bleaching gel, topical fluoride gel & other preventative aids discounted for students
  • Xylitol mints and gums to help reduce decay and improve salivary flow

Educational Videos

  • Various subjects are available for personal or group student education, including:
  • Smokeless tobacco cessation
  • Oral hygiene, brushing & flossing & periodontal disease
  • Oral surgery (extractions) & endodontics (root canals)

Peace Corps Examinations

  • Examinations - Routine and Urgent; with temporary pain relief or palliative treatment

Referrals for Specialty Needs

  • Orthodontics ("braces")
  • Difficult TMD (TMJ) problems and/or more specialized splints

Splints or Night guards

  • Tempromandibular joint dysfunction, TMD (TMJ), initial evaluation (referral as needed). Simple, localized bite adjustments may be done by our dentists. If clenching or grinding continues, a splint or night guard can be made to limit damage to teeth

Simple Wisdom Tooth Extractions

  • Only less complex extractions are performed here at CSU Health Network. Referral of difficult extractions (or if IV sedation or general anesthesia is required).

Tooth Whitening

  • Where success appears probable, bleaching may be recommended. CSU Health Network Dental Clinic can create bleach trays and prescribe bleaching solution, monitor progress and assist with simple adjustments of trays as needed.
