Advanced Psychology Practicum Training
The CSU Health Network invites advanced practicum applications for the 2009-2010 academic year. This practicum is designed for 3rd and 4th year doctoral students in counseling or clinical psychology who want to refine their skills within an APA-accredited counseling center. We seek students who have developed the skills necessary to provide intake assessment and individual psychotherapy with the college student population.
Although there is flexibility in the weekly time commitment for an Advanced Practicum student, we ask for a minimum of twelve hours per week. Students may contract for either a one or two semester experience.
Advanced practicum students may choose among the following services:
• Intake assessment
• Individual therapy with students presenting diverse mental health concerns
• Substance abuse assessment and treatment
• Learning Disability/ADHD assessment
• Outreach
• Emergency services
Advanced practicum students participate in the following training activities:
• Staff meeting/case conference (alternate weeks)
• Individual supervision (1-2 hours depending on client load)
Graduate students interested in applying for the 2009-2010 practicum should submit a letter of interest, resume, and names/phone numbers of three academic/professional references by March 13, 2009. Interviews will be scheduled in March/early April with offers made before the end of the spring semester. If positions remain vacant, late applicants will be considered.
Colorado State University is committed to providing a safe and productive learning and living community. To achieve that goal, we conduct background investigations for all final candidates being considered for employment. Background checks may include, but are not limited to, criminal history, national sex offender search and motor vehicle history. All internship offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check to be conducted immediately following the match announcement. For more complete information about the Colorado State policy, please see http://www.hrs.colostate.edu/background/index.html.
All interns must be available to begin orientation August 1, 2009.
